19th Annual Walk for Water

Each year, GEL employees and their families unite to raise funds and participate in the Walk for Water — an impactful event dedicated to raising awareness about the global water crisis. Since our founders, George and Molly Greene, established Water Missions in 2001, GEL has proudly supported this meaningful cause.

196 walkers registered on the GEL team in 2024. This year, we’re aiming to surpass that number at the event on March 29th in Charleston.

Evidence of the ruins were initially detected by Luke Auld-Thomas, a PhD student at Tulane University, who was investigating a LiDAR survey performed for unrelated purposes that he found on a Google search. After processing the LiDAR scan data with methods used by archaeologists, the finding was confirmed.
