Planning Your Derby Trip
There are lots of ways to get to the Vineyard! By car ferry, by air, or by private boat, we hope you will "come to the Vineyard and fish the Derby"! If you have not yet planned your travel, this guide is full of lodging options, places to eat, and even a full list offishing charters.
Please pre-register/pay online and, beginning Friday, September 3rd, bring your confirmation number to any Derby registration outlet to pick up your button, Vineyard Vines hat, souvenir booklet, and official rules brochure to complete your registration.
Derby Website Updated, New 76th Rules Brochure Live
The Derby website has been updated and you can now download the 2021 Rules Brochure and more! Note: Mini Juniors not eligible for the Grand Prize, striped bass are ineligible in 2021, etc. This is also where you can keep tabs on real time Derby results once the Derby begins!
This year's 76th Annual officially-branded Derby gear will be sold only on-line. All sales benefit our scholarship fund, so shop early and shop often. Once again, we will NOT be selling merchandise at Derby HQ.
We will once again be holding our popular photo contest. Snap a photo during the Derby that represents the special magic of this event? Please submit your photo by October 14 to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Coop and his crew will once again be hosting the annual Kid's Day at the Oak Bluffs Steamship Wharf. Sunday September 19th 6:00-8:00AM. Safe and outdoors and free for kids 4-14. BYO tackle, no Derby pin required.
Please check out all our Sponsors. They support the Derby with product donations for our prizes and we hope you will support them. As a volunteer-run non-profit, we rely on donations and contributions to advance our charitable efforts. Did you know: In 2020 the Derby awarded over $76,000 in scholarships to deserving Island students.
