Annual 401k Meeting With Your Advisor

Dear 401k Plan Sponsor:

The cooler weather approaching is always a reminder that its a good time to take those necessary steps required under ERISA to manage a good, healthy 401k plan for you and your employees.  Routine maintenance, you might call it.

Plan sponsors (that's you) should meet at least once a year with the plan's investment advisor (that's me) to review the plan document, any changes in the fund line-up, and evaluate all plan vendors (namely Safe Harbor Financial and Retirement Plan Consultants).  We document your annual meeting for you and update our fiduciary audit binder.

What Do We Normally Cover in a Meeting?

  • Review Executive Summary Report and various Plan performance metrics.
  • Review the most recent Quarterly Investment Review & Monitoring Report.
  • Review investment performance of the fund line-up (any changes
  • Review fees charges to the plan or to the Plan Sponsor.
  • Discuss any new enrollments or Inactive participants.
  • Any other issues or concerns.

I also like to review the owners of the company's personal 401k statement as well.

When?

Please reach out to Lynn Lee, our Client Service Manager, about a convenient meeting time.  A meeting should last about an hour and I'm happy to travel to your place of business.

You can contact Lynn at:

Yours Truly,

Brian Kennedy
