Receiving Food Scraps from Pilot Food Scrap Collection Program

Bay City and Saginaw areas

We're proud to receive vegetative food scraps from the pilot Food Scrap Collection program offered by Iris Waste Diversion Specialists. Not only do our worms love the extra nutrients, but by playing a critical role in this program we have helped to reduce methane emissions from local landfills and return what came from the earth back to the earth!

Composting & Worm Bin Workshop

National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW)

Sarah Archer (owner of 5Heart Earthworm Farm) and Amy Freeman (Organics and Composting Maven) were excited to have the opportunity to host a Composting and Worm Bin workshop for the National Council of Jewish Women!

The women showed great interest in the process of reducing food waste through backyard composting and using their own worm bin, and are looking forward to having them back for another workshop in the future!

We're Going Even Greener!

New Solectrac E-Tractor Received

We’ve received our new Solectrac e- tractor and are proud to be one of the first in Michigan to use an electric vehicle on the farm. By eliminating our composting operations’ gas usage, we’re helping to protect the environment from harmful greenhouse gases and inspire others to do the same.

Barn Construction Update

Welcoming our Earthworms to Their New Home

Construction of our new worm barn is nearing completion. When is done, the worm barn will have all the amenities our earthworms will ever need, including full insulation and heated floors. We're excited to show you everything that will be happening in our new barn to supply you with our Premium Worm Castings!
