MESSAGE FROM YOUR SUPERINTENDENT

Dear Amanda-Clearcreek Community,

Today marks the end of the first nine weeks. Great job to all of our students, teachers and staff on a tremendous start to the school year!

Facilities

Our playground project continues to advance, with installation slated for fair week. Stay tuned for additional project updates. Beyond the playground, we're re-investing in our facilities to keep them in good condition. This includes updates to the roof in the '77 Gym.

Ohio School Report Cards

The Ohio Department of Education recently released its 2021-2022 Ohio School Report Cards. Rather than using letter grades like in years past, schools now receive a star rating in six categories: achievement, progress, early literacy, gap closing, graduation and readiness. You can learn more about the report breakdown in the guide from The Ohio Department of Education. Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools is using this updated rating system as an opportunity to set new goals for years ahead. We are working together to address the areas that we aspire to strengthen, and uphold the areas of achievement and success.

Transportation Count Week

October 3-7 was our state's district transportation count week, which factors the number of riders on district buses and vehicles to inform transportation funding. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize our outstanding transportation team at A-C. Many of our bus drivers establish the longest relationships with our students, as they are often with them throughout their entire school career. We appreciate all of the team members who make sure our students arrive to and from school safely each day, every year. Thank you!

On a final note, please see the calendar reminders, below. We hope everyone has a safe, fun fair week!

  • Monday, Oct. 10 - Friday, Oct. 14: Fair break, NO SCHOOL
  • Thursday, Oct. 20: Grade cards sent home
  • Friday, Oct. 21: NO SCHOOL
  • Wednesday, Oct. 26: Two-hour delay schedule

With much gratitude,

Dr. Timothy Edwards, Superintendent

Amanda-Clearcreek Local Schools

HAPPY FAIR WEEK!

CAPS TO BENCHES: IN SUPPORT OF OUR MILITARY

A-C High School student council, students and staff participated in a three-year project to convert plastic lids to benches, dedicated to our military. Due to COVID, this project took much longer than anticipated, but still became a reality thanks to the hard work of many. The five benches were completed in time for the start of fall sports and sit prominently on the sidelines of the athletic field.

This project would not have been possible without the help of many. We would like to extend special appreciation to the following:

  • Our excellent community members who donated lids
  • Our student council and other students who assisted with sorting and organizing lids
  • Our cafeteria team for washing the lids
  • Mr. Nick Philiopoulos for transporting over 500 pounds of lids to Wadsworth, Ohio to complete the final step
  • Plastics R Unique for assisting us with the project and providing an excellent product!

We hope our active military and veterans know how much we appreciate them!
