December 2017
Merry Christmas from Darryl, Denise, Eli & Addy Rice
FAREWELL...
This will officially be my last Enews to the Alberta Angus Association. On November 30, Olds Regional Exhibition (ORE) served its last day as Office Administrator for Alberta Angus Association. On behalf of ORE, I would like to thank the Alberta Angus Association for the opportunity to provide administrative services for the past ten years. From the early days of Autumn Angus Legacy Weekend, and kicking off our administration involvement with Summer Sizzler, to the once in a lifetime excitement of World Angus Forum 2009, ORE is proud of our association with the beef industry's leading provincial membership organization.

Personally, I would like to thank each board member that I was able to work with over the years. I thank you for the knowledge that you shared to this 'commercial girl' learning the ropes of the purebred industry. I have a great respect for the efforts that each producer puts into their operation to improve the quality of cattle offered not only to the purebred sector but as it relates to the commercial industry as well.  I have truly enjoyed my time with AAA and have created many great friends within the fraternity. I look forward to seeing you down the trail as I continue my role with Olds Regional Exhibition as Facilities Bookings Coordinator/Financial Controller and wish you all the best with the exciting initiatives that Angus will bring to the beef industry!

May this holiday season be a wonderful one for you and your family!

WELCOME!
Alberta Angus Association is pleased to introduce and welcome the new interim Office Administrator for the Association, Susanne Fankhanel!

Many of you will recognize Susanne who also serves as the Administration contact for the Canadian Red Angus Promotion Society.

Susanne and her husband run a commercial cattle ranch with Hereford/Angus cattle and also have ranch Quarter Horses. Since 2015 their daughter Shana Lee has been involved with the Red Angus starting with a Purebred heifer that was graciously gifted from Vikse Family Farm.  Since then it has been Angus shows and events to promote her new purebred business.

"I am excited to be involved in the Angus family and being part of the Alberta Angus Association will bring it one step closer.  I look forward to working with the membership and meeting everyone at the Provincial events. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and the Best in the New Year!!"
