Making the neighborhood you want to live in!
Thank you to all volunteers
A big thank you to all who volunteer within our community and a special thank you to the volunteers for the casino! We know everyone's time is extra busy this time of year, so we really appreciate the time you took to help keep our community great! This casino will earn for the league $75,000 - $80,000, meaning EACH SHIFT that EACH VOLUNTEER works provides us with $1500 - $2000. It’s a small time commitment but makes a huge difference for us financially. Special shout out to Avril, Jim and Thomas for working two shifts each! A sincere thank you.
How does volunteering benefit our community?
There are many direct and indirect benefits of volunteering. Some of it we can directly see, such as having funds to make and maintain the community skating rinks, maintaining and updating our community hall, being able to host events and so on. But did you know volunteering also:
  • helps empower members of the community
  • ensures ongoing programming and events
  • builds social networks within our community and beyond
  • builds a sense of sanctification, pride and accomplishment individually and within the community
  • positively impacts the lives of others
  • promotes community transformation
We need to ensure that our community remains vibrant, active and inclusive of all it's members. We are looking for new community league members to take on board roles. No experience is necessary to sit on the board and all voices are welcome. Time commitment of each position does vary, but you can expect to meet monthly for about 1 to 1.5 hours. We are lucky to have a larger board, so that means there is lots of hands to help one another out!

If you are interested, please contact [email protected]
We look forward to hearing from you!
