Plums and apples, cherries and berries. Zucchini and beans and beets and lettuce and kale. Many hues and flavours of tomatoes and squash. Earlier in the season there were other berries, from the early honeyberries to the raspberries and saskatoons to the chokecherries and currents – red and black. And don’t forget the rhubarb. The “Garden” in Aspen Gardens is certainly true.
What is also true is the term “Community”. As I walk my dog neighbours call out asking if I want any of their over-abundance. Sometimes it is just they want to share the taste of something new that they have grown. The delight in the harvest is doubled if it is shared, and share they do.
Yep, this is truly Aspen GARDENS COMMUNITY.
