Our Successful Lake Havasu Field Expedition

On January 27, two boats filled with AZFO volunteers set out to survey birds that are using the lake this winter. Kudos to our organizers and to the participants for an excellent morning! The species data gathered will improve understanding of the birds wintering

on Lake Havasu.

A New AZFO Field Expedition! Save the Dates: May 31-June 2

We're planning an expedition we've been eager to try for some years. We will be going out to grasslands near Springerville in Apache County to look for breeding Mountain Plovers. Years ago, surveyors found a single nest in this area, but just how many might be breeding in the these grasslands is still unknown.

More info soon; we are in the planning stage now. Click on the heading above to see updates on the website.

What's a JAM? A Joint Annual Meeting, as it turns out. You are sure to discover new friends and new field opportunities at our September annual meeting in Tucson. Read on!
