Making a Beautiful Impact on World Cancer Day

The focus of World Cancer Day 2021 is Together, All Our Actions Matter. We are thankful for the actions of our supporters and volunteers. Your support allowed us to overcome the limits of social distancing and establish new delivery channels and programs that will endure to serve more women in more ways for years to come. But most of all, we acknowledge and celebrate the women and teens facing cancer in our community who are taking on this journey during this very difficult time. Everyday we see women joining us from home, while sitting in their chemo chair, or while they juggle taking care of their family and themselves. It is our promise to our community to continue being there. This World Cancer Day, we urge you to do the same and tell a woman you love about Look Good Feel Better, or do something beautiful for yourself and sign up for a workshop today. The treats may be long gone, but we are still filled with a warm holiday glow, thanks to you! Thanks to your generosity and a generous match by Mary Kay Cosmetics, $58,825 was raised to fund the LGFB workshop experience and ensure more women, daughters and mothers, receive the practical and emotional support they need, now more than ever. And in recognition of World Cancer Day, Mary Kay has produced a beautiful video highlighting the work of Look Good Feel Better as part of a supportive network in 27 countries. The amazing organizers and supporters of the annual fundraiser Grit & Grace didn't let COVID-19 stop them in honouring their friend and sister Laura. This year, they took to the streets with a goal of one million steps. In true Grit & Grace fashion, they smashed their goal hitting over 1.5Million steps and raising $5,443 for Look Good Feel Better.

Joan's Twenty-Eight Years of Dedication and Compassion

In her incredible 28-year long tenure as an LGFB volunteer, Joan’s dedication and passion to give back has also been a point of connection for her loved ones as well. Most notably, the power, creative expression and shared love of cosmetics has been a special way for her and her granddaughter, Lauren, to get closer. Inspired by her grandmother’s devotion to helping others, Lauren loves hearing about the impact of the workshop and, “seeing that it makes her very happy to give back to the community by doing something she enjoys.”
