This Sunday, This Week
7th Sunday after Pentecost
Jesus does great deeds of power and gives his disciples authority over demons. Yet none of this power is unilateral; it all must be received by faith. Jesus asks his disciples to go out without money or supplies, so that they will be dependent on how others receive them. When we are sent from the assembly to witness and to heal, we are asked to be vulnerable, to be dependent on the reception of others. The Spirit always operates in the between: between Jesus and his Abba, between Jesus and us, between you and me, between us and those to whom we are sent.

Get ready for an action-packed VBS adventure!

Rolling River Rampage invites children on a white-water rafting adventure to experience the ride of a lifetime with God! Along the river, children discover that life with God is an adventure full of wonder and surprise, and that they can trust God to be with them through anything. Relevant music, exciting science, creative crafts, fun recreation, and memorable Bible stories will help kids know that God is always with them as they ride the rapids of amazing grace!

New Windows
Check Them Out!
We had 29 new windows installed in our church this week. Mostly in the office and the educational wings. Some of the windows replaced were 40 plus years old and others were badly weather beaten. These new windows were made possible due to the generous gift of Joan Hinton.
It is expected that these double pane windows will reduce out utility bills and the noise level where they were installed. They also look very nice.

Old Time Gospel Sunday is back! July 29 with one service only, 10:30 a.m.

Join us for an outside worship service where we'll be praising the lord, hearing the word,
and singing about that old time religion that has something to share with the world to this very day!

All are welcome! All are invited! Bring your lawn chair, your tent, your umbrella, and your tappin' toes, 'cause after this worship, you'll know you've been to church!

Stay afterwards for our Church Picnic and Ice Cream Social!
The Wired Word is an easy way to keep your faith going even while on summer vacation!
Whether you are on a vacation or stay-cation, we want to help make staying close to God easy! The Wired Word takes current events from the week and relates them to Scripture. It's an easy way to stay connected to God, and a great study to do by yourself or with others, whether you are at home or away!

Sign up to have a weekly lesson emailed right to your inbox every Thursday.
Volunteer Opportunity
Loaves and Fish Ministry
The Loaves and Fish Ministry is looking for volunteers to help cook, serve or both! People are encouraged to join a team that only serves two times a year. This is a wonderful outreach and it is also a great fellowship time with other members of Advent. If you are interested or if you have questions, please contact Stacy Bolzenius at 614-537-2801.
Give Me That Old Time Religion!
After the Old Time Gospel Service on July 29 at 10:30 a.m. (ONE SERVICE ONLY), we will have our Annual Picnic and Ice Cream Social. Everyone is invited to bring a side dish to share. Hot dogs, buns, condiments, drinks and paper products will be provided.

Ice cream of any kind is welcome. There are ice cream makers at the church if you need to borrow one. You may sign up in the Narthex to bring toppings for the ice cream as well as your side dishes for the picnic. We hope to see you at this fun occasion!
