November News and Updates from the Office of Alumnae Relations
Letter from the President

Dear Alumna,

During this season of Thanksgiving, I am thankful for the dedicated alumnae of The Catholic High School of Baltimore. You show your support in so many ways...through volunteering, generously supporting our Green and Gold Fund, attending school events, and by sending your daughters to Catholic High.

As we wrap up the month of November and draw close to the Christmas holiday, I encourage you to support Catholic High on National GivingTuesday on November 30. Our goal is to raise $15,000 for scholarships and tuition assistance for incoming 9th grade students. In years past, our alumnae were a huge part of our GivingTuesday success! I thank you in advance for your gift to Catholic High. You can read more about our GivingTuesday goal in this Newsletter.

Our prayer for you is one of gratitude for all that you do to continue Catholic High's presence in Belair-Edison and Greater Baltimore metropolitan communities. We are 83 years strong, thanks to you!

Blessings to you and your families this Thanksgiving and always!

Lux Tua Luceat,
Barbara D. Nazelrod, Ph.D. '68

Class of 1943 Ring
In this edition of From The Archives, we are displaying the very first Catholic High class ring from 1943 in honor of the Class of 2023 who received their rings this month! The 1943 ring was gold and had an onyx stone with the Catholic High shield on top. Today's class rings are gold with an emerald stone and the Catholic High shield and cross on each side of the stone.

Varsity Soccer Advanced to IAAM Championship
Finishing 2nd in the IAAM "C1" Conference, Varsity Soccer advanced to the Championship game on Sunday, November 7. Cub fans filled Calvert Hall College's Stadium for the big game. The Cubs came up short, losing 0-2, to the undefeated St. Timothy’s School. We are so proud of our young women for all they accomplished this season and finishing strong in the final game.
Class of 2023 Ring Liturgy
On Wednesday, November 17, family members of the Class of 2023 gathered in the Auditorium to watch the Juniors receive their Catholic High rings. The theme chosen by the Juniors for the liturgy was, "We, though many, are one." Father Francis Ouma reflected on this theme in his homily. Father Ouma shared that God has given each one of us many gifts, and those gifts bring us together as one.

The Alumnae Giving Project
We are asking alumnae to Let Your Light Shine for the less fortunate this year! With your help this Christmas, we hope to reach out to 125 children (from families living at or below the poverty level) and 50 needy senior citizens (with no living relatives).

We could use your help financially or as a shopper for a child or senior citizen. If you can spare a donation in any amount, please make the check out to me, Bonita Lee, if you do not need it for income tax purposes. Otherwise, please make the check payable to Alumnae Christmas Project.

In either case, please mail the check to me so I can keep track of whom to send a "Thank You" letter in early 2022.

Wishing you a healthy and blessed Christmas season!
