| | UPCOMING PROGRAMS & EVENTS: | | |
October is Community Support Services Month
Community support services support over one million Ontarians each year, including seniors and people with disabilities. These services include personal care, homemaking, Meals on Wheels, Alzheimer and adult day programs, transportation to medical appointments, caregiver support, and hospice and palliative care services. They help clients to live independently in their homes and communities for as long as possible, and reduce the burden on family caregivers and other parts of the health care system. As Ontario’s population ages, demand for community support services will continue to increase.

| | Lived Experience Network Advisory Meetings | | |
The Lived Experience Network South East Ontario is an open community of people living with dementia and similar diagnoses and their family/care partners, sharing their lived experiences, advice and input (past and present) with the health care community and with each other, in hopes of enhancing services across the region.
Monthly Zoom Advisory Meetings are happening in October and you are invited to participate. Monday, October 20,2025 1:00pm-2:30pm (EST)
October’s advisory Lived Experience Network question comes from Providence Care Seniors Mental Health Behavioural Support services as they anticipate how Mobile Response Teams will best support those living with responsive behaviours in the community.
“As you look ahead to your future or reflect on your experiences living the dementia journey, while receiving care/support, what are the things that matter most?
Come prepared to share:
1.What were some experiences where you felt especially supported?
2.What was (or do you anticipate) the “tipping point” that made it so you could no longer support your person living in your home?”
