Scholarships


The Anderson Scholarship application will be open March 17, 2023 through May 1, 2023. There are both merit based and financial need based scholarships available.

APPLY

Alumni Association scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate students at UNM. Scholarships are awarded using a variety of factors such as academic achievement, community involvement, employment experiences, areas of study, financial need and several others. Applications are due April 30.

APPLY

Emergency scholarships are available for Anderson undergraduate students in need. Common situations leading students to request an emergency scholarship include safety needs, risk of homelessness or any other emergency or unforeseen circumstances. Students can apply with a one-page personal statement describing their situation and how this scholarship will support their educational goals. Applications are due April 10.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Facilitated Internships


Facilitated internships are supervised, structured learning experiences in a professional setting that allow students to gain valuable work experience.


They are stipend based ($700/month for undergraduates and $875/month for graduate students) and facilitated through Anderson. Stipends are distributed through student UNM Bursar accounts. Students earn 3 credit hours and are required to complete a minimum of 160 hours (typically, at least 10 hours per week during the fall and spring).


Facilitated Internships are available for undergraduate and graduate students.

CHESS Project Management Intern


The Collaborative for Higher Education Shared Services (CHESS) is a New Mexico nonprofit corporation that employs a unique approach to transform the student experience and streamline administrative operations. They're looking for a project management intern to join their team. This 160-hour per term, remote work position will assist with implementation of the Workday Enterprise Resource Planning platform and Student Information System.

U.S Department of State - Information Session at Anderson

UNM will be hosting a visit from our U.S. Department of State Diplomat in Residence Southwest, Antoinette Hurtado. For her information session she will present the many incentives and opportunities that the State Department offers (Scholarships, Internships (Paid, In-Person, Virtual), Fellowships, Application/Interview Tips and she will touch on what it is like to work in the Foreign Service. I think the business students, especially those studying International Management, would be very interested in these opportunities, also the State Department has many careers for Cybersecurity and Business Analysts as well as for the MIS students and also those studying Project Management.

Elizabeth "Betsy" Fulreader and Matthew Manicke, have won 3rd place honors in the graduate category of the Utah Society of Human Resources Management Case Competition. This competition allows students to hone their integrated HR thinking, ethical decision-making, and strong communication and presentation skills.
