Most fundraisers know the value major gifts are to any successful fundraising campaign, whether it is the annual campaign, capital campaign or other fundraising effort. Securing those gifts, however, can be challenging and intimidating. Kayla Hale, Phd, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at the University of Tulsa, will break down the process for securing major gifts from research, to cultivation, and making the ask. With over 27 years of experience in institutional advancement, Ms. Hale understands the importance of major gifts and the strategic process required to achieve those gifts.

We are excited to announce that nominations for our 2017 National Philanthropy Day┬« (NPD) are now open.  NPD is a celebration of philanthropy-giving, volunteering and charitable engagement.  It highlights the philanthropic accomplishments that make our community a better place to live and work. 

NPD is both an official day and a grassroots movement. Every year, since 1986, communities across the globe have celebrated by hosting events to recognize activities of donors, volunteers, foundations, leaders, corporations, and others engaged in philanthropy.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals, the largest community of charities and fundraisers in the world, has released the following statement from its Interim President and CEO Jason Lee regarding the release of President Trump's 2018 budget blueprint:

"The recently released budget blueprint is a very broad document that doesn't get into many details or refer to charities and fundraising directly. However, we are concerned about the potential indirect impact that the lack of funding for many federal departments and agencies could have on fundraising and philanthropy.
