Lake Fun & Safety Day
This Sunday is the last event to celebrate City Park's 25th Anniversary. Come fly a kite, paddle on the lake in a kayak or stand-up paddle board, and enjoy a fabulous day in the park. Many thanks to all of the volunteers that planned and supported these events especially the Parks and Recreation, Heritage, and Arts Committees. And, thank you to the city staff for giving the park a face-lift, setting up and executing the events.

Mock Trial at Municipal Court
On Wednesday, April 24, students who are studying the Classical Conversations Curriculum participated in a Mock Trial at the Municipal Court. Two different groups competed to determine which group presented the best Mock Trial. The students were very excited and presented their cases like experts. The students covered all parts of the trial. They had a jury, bailiff, defendants, witnesses, prosecutors and defense attorneys. John English, an attorney by profession, served as their judge.  Everyone was polite and respectful of the court, leaving it in perfect condition. The Mock Trial was attended by family members of the students.
Police station ribbon cutting will take place on May 11
After years of planning, designing, building and start-up, the new Lakeway police station is up and running.  The city will be celebrating the opening on Saturday, May 11 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Remarks will start at 10 a.m., ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m., and tours of the facility will begin at 10:45 a.m.  Bring the family and celebrate this momentous opening .


Lakeway Sing Along celebrates two decades of entertaining area music lovers with their 20 th Anniversary Spring Show at the Lakeway Activity Center. The show started on April 25 and will continue through the 26 and 27 . Expect an array of favorites from past Sing Along shows, as well as familiar songs about who they are and those who helped them get where they are today. Doors open for these dinner show performances at 6:00 p.m., dinner served at 6:30 p.m., with the show following. Dinner entertainment by the Lohmans Crossing Band. The Friends of the Parks organization is hosting their 21st Annual Wilderness Run on Saturday, April 27, at Hamilton Greenbelt in Lakeway. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the run/walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. The non-competitive 3-mile and 5-mile Wilderness Run/Walk features some of the most spectacular scenery in the state with scenic overlooks of Lake Travis and Hurst Creek. The trail winds along canyon walls and a high cliff, around huge rocks, across fern covered creeks and through tall native tree forests.
