Everyone looks at life through a particular lens or perspective. Our life experiences play a huge role in how we shape such perspectives, beliefs, and biases. The development of these biases oftentimes operates at the unconscious level. They even actually impact the way we make decisions. Thus, it is important that we reflect on our biases to ensure that they don't prevent us from seeing the present opportunities.
The fear of failure, for example, is an all-too-common viewpoint that keeps many of us in the dark. This fear can consume us, paralyze us and keep us stagnant.
Failure is merely an opportunity to learn. There's no need to fear it. Rather, we can embrace it.

Rollingwood Athletic Club offers a variety of camp experiences for youths. It's time for a fun filled summer. Join us for nine exciting themed weeks including: daily fitness activities, tennis, swimming, outdoor games, experiments, adventure, learning, friendship and so much more!
Monday thru Friday, choose from full day or half day options. Save $10 when you register before May 31. Save $10 with each sibling registered. Jr. Tennis Summer Program
Summer is just around the corner and our Jr. Summer Tennis Program is fast approaching, beginning
Monday, June 11.
Our program offers something for all ages and levels of play, from a new to the game 5 year old looking to learn the fundamentals - to a competitive high school player eager to improve and climb their high school tennis ladder. We offer an eight week program that is sure to exceed your child's expectations, jam packed with fundamental development and positive excelling in any given area of their game. While players proceed to improve, they will also have a memorable experience here at Rollingwood. Offering both season rates and weekly rates, we get our fair share of novice, intermediate, and advanced students who participate in our programs. The first time I walked on the pool deck at RAC was in March of 2015. I had just been hired as the new head swim coach, and there was an air of uncertainty around the swim program, as there had been a coaching transition. The March Clinic was in progress, and consisted of about 30 swimmers in total.
That Summer, in my first season as the head coach, the Rollingwood Rockets swim team consisted of about 100 swimmers, and we struggled to be competitive in our conference in our team's first year in the Northern California Swim League.
Fast forward to the summer of 2017; the Rockets had 140+ swimmers and won a conference championship in the same conference we had struggled in just two years before.
And now as I write this, we are finishing up our annual March Clinic. We have 90 swimmers in our March Clinic, the most ever at RAC. Five days per week, regardless of the cold or stormy weather that has been prevalent throughout the month, there is laughter, excitement, full pools, and high expectations that only come with the honest pursuit of excellence.
I'm eternally grateful to have gotten the opportunity to rebuild this first rate program hand in hand with a staff of outstanding assistant coaches and a seemingly endless amount of amazing swim families and athletes. We have all worked hard over the past three years to get this program back to where it currently is, but for me, it's been a labor of love, and I'd like to think we are just getting started!
Rockets, Get Ready to Launch! The 2018 Swim Season is Here!
The 2018 Rockets kick their season off with their first day of practice on Monday, April 2. The Rockets will practice Monday through Friday weekly. Practices times from April 2 to June 8 are as follows:
Bottle Rockets & Firecrackers
4:00-4:30 PM (Indoor Pool)
4:30-5:15 PM (Outdoor Pool)
5:15-6:15 PM (Outdoor Pool)
6:15-7:30 PM (Outdoor Pool)
Practice times may be expanded to accommodate for high school swimmers joining the team in May. Any scheduling updates will be posted at the club and on the RAC mobile app.

Tot Tennis Tuesday
Starting April 3 is a new tennis program designed for the youngest RAC members. This preschool age tennis class focuses on your child's motor skills, hand eye coordination, footwork, and cognitive development such as color recognition and counting concepts.
In a positive and fun environment your tot will learn a lasting love of the game.
This is designed to be a four week progressive program, featuring four, 45 minute sessions every Tuesday morning from 10 - 10:45 am.

Many of today's youth are not getting enough physical activity?
Epidemiological reports show that kids today get far less physical activity than the previous generation. Current activity guidelines recommend 60 minutes of moderately vigorous physical activity daily. Getting less leads to a progression of risk factors that will manifest as they become adults. Get your kids involved in after school programs other than computer or cell phone activities. Enroll your kids in a program at RAC while you workout. Spend time walking or hiking with them on the weekends. Movement is necessary for brain function, weight control, over-eating and sleep.
