INSTRUCTIONS

Cook pasta according to package directions; add edamame the last 2 minutes of cooking. Reserve ¼ cup pasta cooking water. Drain pasta mixture.

Meanwhile, in an extra-large nonstick skillet cook asparagus over medium-high 4 minutes or until just tender and slightly browned, stirring frequently and adding water, 1 to 2 tablespoons at a time, as needed to prevent sticking. Add garlic; cook and stir 1 minute.

Add pasta mixture, olives, lemon zest, lemon juice, pepper, and reserved pasta cooking water to skillet; toss to combine. Top with pine nuts. Serve with lemon wedges.

Teacher Tableau with Sage Yoga Owner Heidi

Get to know HEIDI

Take Heidi's monthly Nimble & Nidra class (typically the last Sunday of the month, 3-4:30pm).

Heidi has owned Sage Yoga for nearly TEN YEARS. WOW!

Thank you, Heidi!

Describe your ideal weather.

Sunny and fresh outside-Fall is my favorite season, so I appreciate crisp, cool weather with lots of bright!

Do you have a favorite birthday tradition for yourself or others?

My family has a wooden Nordic birthday candle "ring" with little seasonal characters or symbols that you can intermingle with beeswax candles in each of the carved holes. My kids love it and it is becoming a family tradition to celebrate with it!

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

Along the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. I fell in love 20 years ago when I first visited in college and my affair has only grown over the years! It is truly a beautiful confluence of amazing people, nature, and laid-back lifestyle. The beaches are amazing, environmental preservation has become "the norm", and the friends I have made are some of the most authentic humans I've ever met. Pura Vida! :-)

You’ve been given a pet. What is it?

Ooh, a fun question! I would say either a koala or an otter, even though I am also tempted to talk about elephants and parrots here as well ;-) Koalas and otters are the cutest critters on the planet and seem like they have an instinctive trust of humans, almost a sort of innate bond. Both are curious, intelligent, and full of potential mischief. Sounds like the kind of creatures I would want to hang with!

What do you love most about Sage and your yoga practice?

Sage is my dharma, born out of a love to serve the community and provide meaning to lives that are touched by its existence. I believe that I have and I continue to pledge to nurture the best teachers, staff, students, practices, and personal growth opportunities that I can cultivate in one spiritual hOMe to serve the beautiful humans that desire to be part of our like-minded community. My practice itself shifts and transforms on almost a daily basis-the best part about it is that I am always evolving into a better version of myself than I was before, based on the practices that I have cultivated over the years. Challenges become opportunities. Hardship turns to growth. Darkness begins to yield light. This is how the practice of YOGA transforms.
