Lakeway police acquire
rifle-bullet resistant vests
The Lakeway Police Department recently acquired 32 level IV rifle bullet-resistant vests through a $17,568 grant awarded by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s office.
The Texas Legislature set aside funds in its past legislative session to allow police agencies to request funding from the Governor’s Office to provide rifle bullet-resistant protective vests.

The Institute for Court Management/National Center for State Courts selected Lakeway Court Administrator Ruth Sandoval as one of 40 officials to attend a national certification course in August.
Sandoval will train in performance measures, human resources, finance and budgeting, caseflow management, and more in Georgetown.
The Lakeway Zoning and Planning Commission recommended approval of a special use permit request for The Wooden Road Home on Pheasant Lane.
The business would operate a retail shop, office, and small woodwork assembly area.
Lakeway City Council is set to vote on the SUP request at its next meeting.
