Nominations Open for 2018 Nonprofit Awards
Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for their contributions to the nonprofit community? Nominations are now being accepted for the two awards presented by the Community Foundation in 2018.
The Nonprofit Leadership Excellence Award honors the leadership and accomplishments of the CEO or Executive Director of a nonprofit organization.
The Minnie Rubek Staff Excellence Award recognizes a nonprofit staff member or team who has quietly gone "above and beyond" in their commitment and dedication to their organization and its mission.

Nominations are due on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.
The awards will be presented at the Celebration of Community on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids.

Celebration of Community November 14; Story Submissions Due August 3
Save the date for the Celebration of Community on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the African American Museum of Iowa in Cedar Rapids. This year's theme is "Good People + Good Ideas = Community Impact." We will highlight up to eight stories of impact that involve people (donors, volunteers, nonprofit staff or clients), ideas, and projects that have positively impacted our community. NewBoRama Seeks Nonprofit Fair Participants August 5
On Sunday, August 5, as part of newBo evolve and the NewBo Art Fair, NewBo City Market will hold a nonprofit fair as part of a weekend of free, accessible programming where residents and visitors can experience the great work of local nonprofits. Participation in the event is free; each nonprofit will be provided with a table and two chairs. Set-up by 10 a.m. on the lawn and the event runs until approximately 3 p.m. To participate, please email Logan Schultz at logan@newbocitymarket.org.

The Iowa Council of Foundations will hold the 2018 Iowa Youth Philanthropy Conference on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Iowa Valley Community College in Marshalltown. LAP-AID To Host Disaster & Poverty Problem-Solving Exercise September 14
Linn Area Partners Active in Disaster (LAP-AID) will host a Disaster & Poverty Problem-Solving Exercise on Friday, September 14, from 9 to 11: 30 a.m. at the Rex Eno Conference Center at United Way of East Central Iowa. This interactive workshop helps organizations and individuals understand how to effectively and empathically serve low-income families. Find more information here.

Nonprofit organizations are invited to set up a table at NewBo City Market's Rock the Block, the summer Friday night family concert series.
