This week we're delighted to launch the College Awards shortlist. The Awards recognise the talent, innovation and achievement demonstrated by our colleges, their staff and their learners. We would like to thank everyone who submitted entries and send our congratulations to the shortlist. Discover more below.

CDN College Awards 2023
Shortlist Announced!
The Awards recognise the talent, innovation and achievement demonstrated by our colleges, their staff and their learners.
This year we received 154 inspiring submissions highlighting the fantastic work of Scotland's colleges.
The winners will be announced at a celebration ceremony at Radisson Blu, Glasgow on Thursday 30 November 2023.
We would like to thank everyone who submitted entries and send our congratulations to the shortlist.

Trauma-Informed
College Programme
CDN are delighted to launch the ambitious new Trauma-Informed College Programme, aimed at facilitating the creation of a trauma-informed culture in every college in Scotland.
The programme will utilise learning from CDN’s recent Pathways from Poverty Research and the expertise of colleagues and partners across the sector to provide training, resources and interventions that will help colleges tackle the challenges faced by learners and their communities in accessing and sustaining their participation in education.

College Researcher Development Programme
The Step Forward Researcher Development Programme supports college staff to develop research skills that will enhance their practice and improve college and learner outcomes. The programme is open to teaching and support staff and consists of a series of workshops and researcher meet-ups, plus ongoing support for researchers to develop their own research projects.

Choose College Success
The national #ChooseCollege campaign highlights the importance of Scotland’s colleges and encourages potential students to – Choose College.
Organised by the CDN Marketing and Communications Network, Scotland’s 26 colleges have come together with one voice to promote the Choose College campaign via a mix of platforms including, radio and digital marketing with a strong focus on social media.
The Choose College social media campaign lasted for four weeks, starting Monday 31 July 2023 and concluding Sunday 27 August 2023.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Event and Resources
The hugely popular event, 'AI in College Education: Policy, Practice, and Productivity' will take place on Friday 22 September at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk campus. This one-day in-person summit brings together educators, technologists, and policymakers to discuss the crucial role Artificial Intelligence (AI) will have in reshaping the education landscape. The event will include a rich dialogue led by Colleges Scotland on crafting robust and dynamic policies that support AI integration into Scotland's college education.

Age Inclusion Awareness
CDN's webinar with Age Scotland 'Age Inclusion Awareness' on Wednesday 27 September, is a one hour introduction to the topic of age in the workplace.
The purpose of the session is to:
- raise awareness of ageism in the workplace and the potential consequences for organisations and individuals
- explore what you can do as an individual to co-create an age inclusive working environment

Partner News: The future of learning and teaching: Planning and delivery of digitally enhanced blended learning
|
|
This in-person event takes place at The Studio, Glasgow, on Wednesday 20 September, 1000-1545. It will share the findings of the SFC-commissioned project from CDN, QAA, Education Scotland, and sparqs.
