The Double Housing Crisis
In the May Abell report, Phillip Garboden makes a case for a "Double Crisis" in Baltimore's affordable rental market. The first crisis is driven by the city's poverty, the second, by sharply rising rents in all middle market neighborhoods.  Read the report here

St. Ambrose is hosting a discussion on Garboden's findings on September 8th at the Hopkins Club.

Belair-Edison Neighborhoods Inc. (BENI) is undertaking a major marketing initiative for the community and will be launching a new branding campaign fall 2016.

The "Movie Shed" in Belair-Edison got a new look this summer thanks to the NeighborWorks Catalytic Grant. Mural by Sean James and Paige Orpin.

In this newsletter we celebrate a summertime that has been chock-full of neighborhood events such as National Night Out in Calvert Street Park and Lakia and Sa'Nyia's annual back-to-school drive.
St. Ambrose in the Community
National Night Out in Calvert Street Park
Getting together with Old Goucher and Barclay neighborhoods at National Night Out is always a highlight of the St. Ambrose Summer. Thanks to ezStorage, St. Ambrose was able to bring back the "Paint Your Neighborhood" activity.
According to the kids in our community, there should be more pink houses!
School Supplies Drive with Lakia and Sa'Nyia Diggs
A now annual tradition, St. Ambrose was happy to host another successful back to school drive for St. Ambrose families led by Lakia Diggs and her daughter Sa'Nyia in honor of Sa'Nyia's birthday. Read the story of how it all got started in this blog post from 2014.
