We’re back with a monthly highlight featuring a current mspWellness Champion. Champions are businesses and organizations that create, implement, and promote wellness programs as part of their internal culture, and meet a set of criteria established by the Minneapolis Regional Chamber and the Hennepin County and City of Minneapolis Departments of Health.
WomenVenture is a nonprofit organization which does the majority of its work remotely to meet the needs of their employees. As part of their commitment to employee wellbeing, WomenVenture has implemented a new Coffee with a Coworker Program.
To increase social connection amongst staff while working in a largely remote environment,, Womenventure leadership created the new initiative as they know that developing meaningful connections between colleagues makes a large positive impact on employee wellbeing. By choosing to participate each month, employees get randomly paired with a coworker to meet in person or virtually during the month. Staff are encouraged to grab a coffee, lunch, or snack together to connect with colleagues that they may not get the chance to talk to daily, and to spur the connection-building, informal conversations that would have happened organically in a completely in-person office setting. It’s a win-win for everyone and it’s a creative way to address the challenges of today’s working environment. Way to go, WomenVenture team!
mspWellness is thrilled to celebrate and share employee wellness stories like that of WomenVenture. Please consider applying to be an mspWellness Champion and be recognized in an upcoming newsletter!
