National Night Out in Downtown Barrington Today
The Village of Barrington Police Department will host its National Night Out in downtown Barrington today, Aug. 4 from 5:30-8:30 pm. The event is designed to heighten support for drug prevention and crime awareness. Highlights include a K9 demonstration at 6:30 pm and a performance by the School of Rock at 7:00 pm. ABBA Tribute Concert Tomorrow in Barrington
Get ready for a fun drive-in concert tomorrow, Aug. 5 from 7:00-9:00 pm, featuring ABBA tribute band Dancing Queen at the Village of Barrington's north commuter lot. Tickets are $30 per car with a maximum of six people per vehicle. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, small tables, food, and drinks to set up by their cars. Jazz & Wine Fest at Deer Park Town Center Aug. 6
Plan to enjoy the 10th Annual Deer Park Jazz & Wine Festival this Saturday, Aug. 6 from 1:00-8:30 pm at Deer Park Town Center, 20530 N. Rand Rd. presented by Fidelity Investments. All are invited for a Story Time program with the therapy dogs & mini therapy horses of SOUL Harbour Ranch on Sunday, Aug. 7 from 11:30 am-12:30 pm at the Arboretum of South Barrington, 100 W. Pint Wednesdays at Wild Onion to Benefit IFSA
Join Wild Onion Brewery, 22221 N. Pepper Rd. in Lake Barrington, as they “Raise a Pint” in support of the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance (IFSA). Last Call for Vendors at the Family Expo on Aug. 20
Only a few vendor spots remain for the Family Expo on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 12:00-4:00 pm at beautiful Citizens Park in Barrington. This fun event is FREE to the community and a great way to promote your business or organization. Business Vendor Space is $225; and Nonprofit Space is $100. World Leaders Forum Hosts Actor Olmos on Aug. 22
Tickets are on sale for the next World Leaders Forum Inspirational Series program on Monday, Aug. 22 at 7:00 pm featuring actor, director and producer Edward James Olmos at Judson University, 1151 N. State St. in Elgin. The event will be hosted by entrepreneur Jacqueline Ruiz, who will also moderate a panel discussion with award-winning screenwriter Rick Najera. Elderwerks Educational Services is seeking volunteers to work at its Aging Better Expo on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at the Triphahn Center, 1685 W Higgins Rd. in Hoffman Estates. Tasks include: welcoming attendees, monitoring educational sessions, helping resource booth representatives, serving lunch to attendees, and helping at their info booth.
