Let It Be Us Fireside Chat Tonight in Barrington
Join Let It Be Us tonight, Aug. 13 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at Barrington's White House, 145 W. Main St., for a Fireside Chat on opportunities regarding foster care and adoption in Illinois. Learn how to obtain a foster care license, what it means to be a foster parent and how to navigate adoption through foster care. The FREE event is led by Susan McConnell and other foster care and adoption experts, and is open to future and current foster and adoptive parents. Guided Tours of Bettendorf Castle in August & September

Huntington Learning Center Requests School Supply Donations
Huntington Learning Center in Barrington is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for Chicago area students in need. Huntington of Greater Chicago has partnered with Cradles to Crayons, 101.9 FM, and 100.3 FM for the school supply drive. Donations can be dropped off at Huntington Learning Center, 722 W. BACOA Memory Cafe Program on August 20
The Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) will host the Memory Café on Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at Ela Area Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail in Lake Zurich. Memory Cafe provides an opportunity for people who are experiencing mild or early stage memory loss, and their care partners, to gather for socialization and conversation. The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District will host a Blood Drive on Saturday Aug. 24 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and an Open House from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at 22222 N. Pepper Rd. in Lake Barrington. The FREE family-friendly open house will include: fire house tours, antique fire trucks, kids activities, food trucks and more. The Windy City Bulls have announced six priority game dates that will be included in their 2019-20 regular season schedule.
