Cyclist to Speak on Ride to Raise Awareness for Parkinson's Aug. 7
Meet Joe Motz for "An Afternoon of Inspiration to Live Your Best," at the Neurobalance Center on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. and hear why he is riding his bike 6,500 miles across country to raise awareness for Parkinson's Disease. Guest speaker is Jimmy Choi, a three-time American Ninja Warrior contestant living with Parkinson's Disease. The Barrington Park District welcomes the public to attend a FREE concert on Wednesday, Aug. 7 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the amphitheater at Citizens Park, 511 Lake Zurich Rd. in Barrington, as part of their Summer Concert in the Park series. Barrington Police Dept. Hosts National Night Out Aug. 8
The Barrington Police Department will host National Night Out this Thursday, Aug. 8 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Cook & Station Streets in downtown Barrington. This is a FREE fun, educational event designed to promote positive police-community partnerships. Attendees will receive free bike helmets, digital fingerprinting, K9 demonstration, family games, trackless train rides, face painting and a visit from the SOUL Harbour Ranch mini-therapy horses. Huntington Learning Center Requests School Supply Donations
Huntington Learning Center in Barrington is collecting new backpacks and school supplies for Chicago area students in need. Huntington of Greater Chicago has partnered with Cradles to Crayons, 101.9 FM, and 100.3 FM for the school supply drive. Donations can be dropped off at Huntington Learning Center, 722 W. The Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) will host the Memory Café on Tuesday, August 20 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. at Ela Area Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail in Lake Zurich. The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District will host a Blood Drive on Saturday Aug. 24 from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and an Open House from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at 22222 N. Pepper Rd. in Lake Barrington. The FREE family-friendly open house will include: f ire house tours, antique fire trucks, kids activities, food trucks and more.
