Apollo Moon Landing Presentation Tonight at Library
Historian Jim Gibbons will discuss President John F. Kennedy’s 1961 space goal and its fulfillment in 1969 at a presentation tonight, July 16, from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the Barrington Area Library, 505 N. Northwest Hwy. The lecture celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing and discusses how Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon with Aldrin following later, and how both men spent almost a full day on the moon's surface launching an important part of American history. Top 40 country band Bella Cain will perform Wednesday, July 17 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at The Arboretum of South Barrington, 100 W. Higgins Rd. Kaleidoscope founder Jill Funk to Exhibit Artwork on July 18
Multi-faceted artist and Kaleidoscope founder Jill Funk will exhibit her artwork on Thursday, July 18 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Barrington's White House, 145 W. Main St. Funk studied Fine Art at the Cleveland Institute and achieved success as a professional artist participating in numerous juried art shows, commissioned projects and commercial work, as well as teaching art.
