The weekly Barrington Farmers Market will begin on Thursday, June 13 from 3:00 -7:00 p.m. and continue every Thursday through October 17 at Park and Cook Streets in downtown Barrington. Go Green Barrington encourages shoppers to "Bag Share" at the market to help reduce single-use plastics. BDE to Perform Sleeping Beauty June 14-15 at BHS
Barrington Dance Ensemble (BDE) will perform Sleeping Beauty on Friday, June 14 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St. in Barrington. Ticket sales have been extended for Samaritan Counseling Center's fundraiser, Boots & Bling, on Saturday, June 15 from 6:30 - 11:30 p.m. at Biltmore Country Club, 160 Biltmore Dr. in North Barrington. Get your cowboy boots, grab your hat and get ready to line dance, take a chance on a diamond bracelet, pull a bottle of fine wine, bid on a waterfront condo getaway, and help those in the area receive counseling services regardless of the ability to pay. The Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) is offering a new program called the Memory Café on Tuesday, June 18 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Ela Area Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail in Lake Zurich. Memory Cafe provides an opportunity for people who are experiencing mild or early stage memory loss, and their care partners, to gather for socialization and conversation. The Barrington Area United Way ( BAUW) will host its annual Golf Outing on Friday, June 21 at Chalet Hills Golf Club, 943 Rawson Bridge Rd. in Cary. T he event includes registration at 10:30 a.m., a shotgun start at noon, cocktails, dinner, raffle and auction beginning at 5:00 p.m. The fundraiser kicks off BAUW's annual campaign, with 100% of the proceeds supporting health and human service programs through their Community Impact Grants. BHS Names Assistant Principal of Technology & Innovation
Ben Rodriguez has been named as the new Assistant Principal of Technology and Innovation at Barrington High School (BHS). Rodriguez joined Barrington 220 in 2016 as an Instructional Digital Age Learning (iDAL) Coach at BHS, and holds a master's degree in Educational Technology from the American College of Education in Indianapolis. Rodriguez replaces Ty Gorman, who became the district's Director of Instructional Technology last fall. Click here for details.
