Guided Tours of Bettendorf Castle on Sept. 12 & 14
Sign up for a guided tour of historic Bettendorf Castle, 418 Concord Ave. in Fox River Grove, on Thursday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 14. See the exterior grounds of the castle, learn the history of how it was built, and hear about future plans for renovations to help preserve the castle. Run the Shores Event to Support Local Food Pantry Sept. 14
The public is invited to participate in a morning 5K run or 1-mile run/walk at scenic Lake Barrington Shores, Rt. 59 and Kelsey Rd., on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 8:00 a.m. to raise money for the Cuba Township Food Pantry. The event includes refreshments, awards, t-shirts and a drawing for prizes. A raffle will be held for participants who bring non-perishable food pantry items. PAWS Chicago Pet Adoption Event in Barrington Sept. 14
PAWS Chicago will hold an "Angels with Tails" Pet Adoption Event on Saturday, Sept. 14 from noon - 4:00 p.m. in downtown Barrington. CFC Hosts Ignite the Nite in Barrington Hills Sept. 14
Citizens for Conservation will host Ignite the Nite on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 5:00 - 10:00 p.m. at the Barrington Hills Riding Center, 361 Bateman Rd. The event includes a bonfire, live music, raffle, a cookout dinner, beer and wine, horse-drawn wagon rides, native birds of prey, stargazing with astronomical telescopes and educational flashlight tours for kids. Lincoln Trio to Perform at Barrington's White House Opening Night Gala on Sept. 14
Barrington's White House will host its Fall Season Opening Night Performance and Gala on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at 145 W. Main St. in Barrington. Volunteers Needed for BAUW Tag Days Sept. 26-28
The Barrington Area United Way (BAUW) is in need of volunteers for its annual “Be a Life Saver Tag Days” to be held Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 26 - 28. Volunteers are asked to work two-hour shifts throughout downtown Barrington to raise awareness and solicit donations to help fund BAUW health and human service programs in the community.  To volunteer or make a donation click here.
