At Bucks County Free Library, we feel a lot of things: a sense of responsibility to a beloved global tradition; a commitment to public service; and a deep reverence for literacy and education. But we aren't used to feeling... well... cool .

Learn to Play an Instrument : Music is fun for everyone! BCFL's collection includes a wide variety of musical instruments for children and adults alike to enjoy. Learn to play the ukulele, impress your friends with your accordion skills or get people dancing to the beat of our Jumbie Jam steel drum. Your library card puts these instruments at your fingertips, literally.

Resume Help : Your library card gets you access to a plethora of online resources including Brainfuse , LearningExpress and Lynda.com , all of which house expert tutorials about the job application process. Renew Your Passport : Traveling somewhere? Our Bensalem Branch is a passport acceptance facility! Getting a passport is simple and convenient at BCFL. Note: The passport service is by appointment only; all appointments must be booked online .

Plan a Party : Add some fun to your next get-together with a karaoke machine, black light, projector or fog machine. Guests at your backyard BBQ will love to play cornhole or tug-of-war. Planning a party for kids? Borrow a parachute, play tunnel or bluetooth speaker. We even have board games and book club kits. Search the catalog to take your party to the next level!

Rent a Movie : With all of the options available, it's easy to forget that BCFL has an incredible selection of movies to borrow... for free . From kid favorites to the most recent superhero movie, you can borrow or even stream the latest and greatest. And it's not just limited to movies: your library card gets you access to TV shows, music and audiobooks, too! Search the collection to place a hold, stop in at your local branch or browse Hoopla to plan your next night in.

Get Tech Support : If you are having trouble with one of your devices and you like free help, then make an appointment with Library Help Desk. Our skilled technicians are experts at tech support and customer service. From hardware to software, from phones to printers, from repairs to troubleshooting... If it has a power button, we can help!

Do It Yourself : Whether your To Do list includes determining the cause for the check engine light or hanging that new flat screen, you don't need to hire a professional anymore. Instead, do it yourself! Start checking tasks off your list by checking out the items from our tool collection .

Discover Your Roots : If you've been thinking about tracing your family tree, your library card gives you access to Ancestry.com and Heritage Quest . In addition, your library card is your subscription to The New York Times and NewsBank, which allows you to access local periodicals like the Bucks County Courier Times and The Intelligencer, and their archives . It's never been easier - or more cost-effective - to uncover your history.

Try It Before You Buy It : Our Try It! collection is an ever-expanding catalog of items that you can borrow before you buy. If you or someone you know needs mobility assistance , you might be interested in our HurryCane, sock slider or EZ-Riser. Caregivers might be interested in our Memory Care bags for dementia patients and sensory kits for children. From cake pans to knitting needles to toys, our special collections are as diverse and interesting as our patrons! Search the catalog to learn more.

Engage : Gone are the days of museum-like facilities and shushing patrons. Playspaces like Penn's Little Village at the Langhorne Branch and Career Corner at the Yardley Branch are meant for fun! At Doylestown, The Backyard offers a beautiful outdoor space to meet, chat or relax. Our Quakertown Branch, already home to the Discovery Studio , will soon open a maker-space complete with 3D printer, button maker and silk screen machine. Or record video at the push of a button in our soundproof One Button Studio at the Yardley Branch. All of our branches offer unique, adaptable and comfortable spaces to study, host meetings and learn something new. With thousands of educational and entertaining programs each year, there's no shortage of ways to engage with your library and your community.
