The Application Playbook Begins

Before writing essays or scheduling interviews, successful families answer three questions:

1. What does our child need?

Think beyond prestige.

Consider:

Learning style
Academic challenge
Arts opportunities
Athletics
Student support services
School culture
Commute or boarding options

2. What can our family realistically manage?

Include:

Tuition budget
Transportation
Schedule demands
Extracurricular commitments

3. What schools belong on our list?

Aim for:

Reach schools
Match schools
Likely schools

A balanced list reduces stress and creates options.
