Lending a Hand at Oasis Dufferin Community Centre

A few weeks ago, a group of BWXT volunteers headed to Oasis Dufferin Community Centre to assist at their food bank program. Our team, along with a group of dedicated community members, unloaded and organized boxes of fresh produce and nonperishable goods that will ensure hundreds of families and individuals experiencing food insecurity in the Davenport area have access to healthy food.

It was a great opportunity to support a vital organization in our community and to see firsthand the significant impact small actions can have. To echo the volunteer work, we are pleased to award funding to Oasis Dufferin Community Centre through BWXT's corporate giving program!

You're Invited: BWXT Toronto Tour!

Interested to see how natural uranium pellets are manufactured? We're excited to invite you to a tour of our facility in Davenport, where we manufacture ceramic pellets from natural uranium dioxide powder. The pellets manufactured by BWXT go on to power 25% of Ontario with carbon emissions-free, reliable energy, and play a crucial role in the production of life-saving nuclear medicine.

At BWXT in Toronto we manufacture ceramic pellets from natural uranium dioxide powder. After pressing, baking, grinding and inspecting the pellets, we send them to our Peterborough facility where they are placed in CANDU® fuel bundles. Both our Peterborough and Toronto facilities are licensed by Canada’s nuclear regulator, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). Approximately 40 people work at BWXT in Toronto in high-value manufacturing positions, engineering and operations support. The pellets manufactured by our employees in Toronto are placed into fuel bundles in Peterborough and go on to power 25% of Ontario!
