Supporting the Community

Over the holiday season, employees at our Kanata facility supported community initiatives with donations and volunteer time.

Employees spent the afternoon assisting Kanata Food Cupboard's gift card distribution to community members in need. Volunteers helped direct traffic and coordinate gift card donations.

Additionally, employees held a fundraiser to collect donations for Kanata Food Cupboard. BWXT Medical also provided a corporate donation to Kanata Food Cupboard to support food bank access and goods for senior citizens.

Employees also once again supported Toy Mountain through the Salvation Army. A collection was held and over two boxes of toys were donated to support children in the community.

Public Meeting with Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission

BWXT Medical and other licensees will participate in an annual public meeting held by Canada’s nuclear regulator, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC).

Each year, BWXT Medical submits an Annual Compliance Report (ACR) to the CNSC with the purpose of demonstrating that BWXT Medical has successfully met the requirements of the Nuclear Safety and Control Act and its Class IB nuclear substance processing facility licence.

At the meeting, CNSC Staff will present the annual Regulatory Oversight Report for 2024 for BWXT Medical and other licensees. The meeting will be held the week of March 23, 2026.

More information can be found on the CNSC's website here.
