Dear STPPS Community,

The first day of school is almost here, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our students back for the 2026-2027 school year!

This year, we're Building Our Legacy by the lasting difference we leave in the lives of our students. One conversation, one classroom, and one child at a time. Every lesson taught, every milestone celebrated, and every connection we make helps shape the future.

We've gathered everything you need to know for the 2026-2027 school year below to help your family start the year with confidence.

All Students in Pre K-12 Begin the Year with Smart Start Days

August 6: Only Pre K-12 students with last names A-L attend school on this day.

August 7: Only Pre K-12 students with last names M-Z attend school on this day.

All students attend school and begin a normal schedule beginning August 10th.

Every Child Matters, Every Day Counts

To promote student success, we have updated our attendance requirements and procedures in alignment with state guidelines.

Find Your Bus Stop Location and Times

Use the Bus Stop Locator located on the Transportation page to get contact information for your bus driver. Contact your driver(s) to get bus stop location and times.

A transportation hotline is available from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. on July 30, 31, and August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10. Call the Transportation Hotline for additional assistance. The number is 985-898-3373.

Starting the New School Year is Even Easier

Back to school forms are available online through the Student Progress Center (JPams). These electronic forms are replacing paper forms for your convenience.

Register a Child New to STPPS

Current STPPS students do not have to register again unless transferring to a different school in a different attendance zone due to moving. Information about applying for Pre K can be found at stpsb.org/prek.

Find School Specific Information

Access our school directory and visit school websites for school supply lists, bell times, and contact information. Pre K school supply lists can be found at stpsb.org/prek.

Free School Lunches and Breakfasts for All Students

Free school lunches and breakfasts are available for all students during the 2026-2027 school year through a program called the Community Eligibility Provision. All enrolled students in our 55 schools are eligible to participate in this meal program without having to pay a fee or submit an application. There is no free and reduced meal application this year.
