"Never in a million years would I have guessed that I could ski with MS."
- Joan, CAN DO® Program Alumna and Adaptive Ski Participant

Joan (right) and her husband Michael
A blizzard couldn't stop Joan and 17 other people with MS and their support partners from an experience of a lifetime this past weekend!

Can Do MS, in collaboration with the MS Achievement Center at Dignity Health, brought an inaugural, multi-day adaptive ski program to Squaw Valley, CA. The program included three educational seminars and two days of skiing.

Joan, who attended with her husband Michael, had an amazing experience with their co-participants and adaptive instructors from Achieve Tahoe.

"I was actually skiing by myself," exclaimed Joan, who even experienced her first powder day! Watch Joan talk about her skiing experience.

Jimmie's can do spirit came alive in all of our adaptive ski participants this past weekend, and we hope to see them back on the mountain again soon!

A big thank you to all our SKI for MS fundraisers and donors for helping to make these adventures possible for our program participants.

Don't Weight For Wellness: What You Lose Can Help You Gain
Through aspects of our everyday life that we can control, particularly diet choices and physical activity, we can positively change and improve obesity and obesity-related comorbid health conditions.  Change is always difficult and there are really no shortcuts; you have to actually make sustainable changes to get results. But  the payoff for your hard work is promising!

Question: Do you have any recommendations to address the daily pain and pressure of the MS hug?

What you eat and how you move impact your health and your MS. Please join us to learn about specific strategies to manage your weight with nutrition and exercise.
