A Message from the President
Dear Members and Friends,
What a difference a week makes. Last week at this time beach, pool, sun, golf, food and an occasional cocktail. This week, Board meetings, committee meetings and yes WORK! Enjoy the last days of Summer because it comes to an end all too quickly.
As many of you know, Rabbi Kozlow is leaving Bnai Israel to be able to spend more time with her family. We wish Rabbi the best in her new congregation.
In the meantime, your Rabbinic search committee and Board of Directors has been very busy and has secured the services of an amazing Interim Rabbi. Rabbi Barry Kenter from Dobbs Ferry, NY will be coming to Bnai Israel. Rabbi Kenter spent the majority of his career at the Greenburgh Hebrew Center and after retirement (no Compass Point games fo him), created a second career as an "Interim Rabbi". In this position, Rabbi Kenter will come and mend the sails, steady our ship, keep us on course, and most importantly help us find our next captain. He will help guide our Hebrew school and bar/bat mitzvah students, teach adult education classes, and perform all of our life cycle and religious functions until we choose our next full time Rabbi. He is an expert in the search process and a dedicated, passionate leader. Rabbi Kenter along with Cantor Zach Golden will be leading us in our High Holiday services this year as well as overseeing our children's services.
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, September 15th for our annual Shul Days from 11-2 where you will have an opportunity to meet Rabbi Kenter.
Note the times in our calendar of events as many have changed. Evening services at 7, and Shul Days at 11.
Efraim Jaronowski, President of our Men's Club requests that in order to complete your order to have names put into the annual Yizkor Book of Remembrance, you MUST copy the form, fill it in completely and send it or bring it to the Shul with your payment made out to Men's Club. He will not accept any further On-Line registration, See the information below and contact Efraim if you have any questions.
Please come and help me welcome in Shabbat tonight as I lead services.
Shabbat Shalom and see you in Shul,
will be given to ANYONE who signs up to do an Oneg on a Friday night.
Please call or email Anita Liebeskind at
