BCU's annual Christmas brunch is held before Bridgewater’s annual Christmas on the Common! Anyone can stop by our Bridgewater branch to eat a delicious catered breakfast from Percy’s Place, enjoy tables of Christmas crafts, face painting, letters to Santa and the chance to meet and take pictures with Mr. and Mrs. Claus! You don't have to be a member to celebrate the holidays together! We hope to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.

Bridgewater - Create to Donate Fri, Nov 29th, 2 - 4p, Sandi's Sewing & Design. We will be gathering to make Tote Bags to donate to Adults in our local shelter. The cost of this class is: Warm Socks, Gloves, Hat, Scarf and a $5 Gift Card to Dunks, Walgreens or CVS. These items will fill the tote bag. The supplies to make the tote bags will be supplied by Sandi's. If you are a high school student, this will count as 2 hours of community service. Ages 10+ Registration Required

Bridgewater - Old-Fashioned Christmas Caroling Sun Dec 1st Noon - 2p, Central Square Congregational Church, 71 Central Square. Join in to sing your favorite carols. Bring your voice, instruments, dress in costume for the season if you wish. Stay as long as you like for this Pop-up Choir. We have free hot chocolate with marshmallows to add. The Bridgewater Business Association is holding the community’s Christmas on the Common vendor celebration in our Fellowship Hall, lower level of the church. We will sing outside, weather permitting or inside front door. Lend your voice and enjoy!

Marshfield - Hike & Hops Sun, Dec 1, 1 - 3p, 1250 Union St. At Hike and Hops, explore beautiful trails and local breweries throughout Southeastern MA with Wildlands Trust! This month, join us on the trails of Phillips Farm Preserve in Marshfield for a 3-mile hike led by volunteer Rob MacDonald. Afterwards, you are welcome to join us at the nearby Untold Brewing in Scituate (about a 6-minute drive) to enjoy their local craft beer. Wildlands will provide snacks. All ages that can walk 3+ miles are welcome. Kids are welcome in the taproom. Leashed dogs are welcome both on the hike and in the taproom in a designated doggie area. Space is limited - TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED ONLINE IN ADVANCE.

Middleborough - 60th Annual Middleborough Christmas Parade Sat, Nov 30, 1p - 3p.
The Christmas Parade Committee is pleased to announce that the theme for this year’s Middleborough Christmas Parade will be “Middleboro Christmas Past.” The parade will begin at Burkland School, continue up Mayflower Avenue to Courtland Street, around Station Street, down Centre Street, continue to South Main Street, and return to the Burkland School.
The Christmas Parade Committee is thrilled to be coordinating another exciting parade that will no doubt gather the community together to ring in the most festive time of the year. We hope to continue a tradition that has brought happiness to young and old alike, spanning several generations. Most of all, we encourage participants to be creative and have fun as we carry out one of Middleborough’s oldest holiday traditions.

Plymouth - 5th Annual Post-Feast Waddle (and Food Drive) Fri, Nov 29th, 10a - 1p. Start at the Wildlands Trust headquarters at Davis-Douglas Farm and walk to the Beech Tree Clearing at Emery Preserve. From there, choose the direct route back for 2 miles round trip, or take the longer red trail for a 3-mile hike. Before and after the hike you’ll be welcomed into the Community Conservation Barn for festive refreshments. This event is free for all ages! Furry friends are welcome, but we ask that they be kept on-leash. Wear your blaze orange if you have it! There is no hunting on Davis-Douglas Conservation Area, but we always err on the side of caution during hunting season. Non-perishable food item for those in need will be donated to Damien’s Pantry.

Taunton Civic Chorus - On Sun, Dec 8, the Taunton Civic Chorus will wrap up its 60th Anniversary with a holiday concert entitled By the Candlelight. The program will feature both Hanukkah and traditional
Christmas Music. Special guest Dr. Fredric Scheff will be our featured narrator and soloist. We had such an exciting concert event in May and were fortunate to feature so many Massachusetts dignitaries. We hope this concert will be equally rewarding for our audience. The program will be held at 6:00PM at the Pilgrim Congregational Church, 45 Broadway in Taunton. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors over 62 and children under 12. We hope you will join us!

Whitman & Hanson Dollars for Scholars - Interested individuals will be able to order gift cards from over 300 nationwide merchants. DFS will receive a commission for selling the cards while the recipient will receive the full face value of the gift card. A Dollars for Scholars representative will be in the Community Room of the Whitman Public Library on Sat, Dec 7, 10a - noon and in Training Room of the Hanson Police Station on Sun, Dec 8, 10a - noon to answer any questions. Orders may be placed at those times. All gift cards ordered are expected to be delivered by Dec 14. Payments should be in the form of a check or cash. Currently, DFS places gift card orders every other month for its board members. Members use the gift cards as gifts for family or friends or toward everyday purchases such as groceries, gas, prescriptions, and restaurants. Proceeds from the sale will benefit graduating high school seniors in the form of scholarships at the end of the school year.
