Save the Date: CMPC ® Recertification Is Next Year
Here's Your Checklist to Meet the November 30, 2020 Deadline
Dear Certified Mental Performance Consultant ®  (CMPC):

2020 is your CMPC ® recertification year! Please review the outlined requirements and timeline below, and also start keeping track of your CEUs. The application period opens September 1, 2020 and will run through November 30. A $25 late fee will be assessed on applications received December 1 - 31.

Recertification procedures are explained in the  Certification Program Candidate Handbook  on pp. 38 - 47. We recommend closely reading these instructions to ensure a smooth review process and higher chance of approval.

RECERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Payment of the $275 CMPC ® Recertification Fee (with exam) at appliedsportpsych.org/payment .

  • After paying the $275 fee, AASP's Certification Manager will email an exam code along with exam scheduling instructions and a link to exam study resources. Note: Exam scores are not made immediately available after testing. AASP's Certification Manager will notify you of the results via email within approximately two weeks.

2. Proof of passing the CMPC ®  Certification Exam and submission of complete recertification materials by November 30, 2020. Remember, you must pass the exam BEFORE your application will be accepted. AASP recommends testing as early as you feel comfortable. There is a 90-day retest waiting period if a passing score is not achieved on the first attempt. Please plan accordingly so your certification does not lapse!

3. A completed application must include a Continuing Education (CE) Activity Log documenting 45 CEUs accrued during the 5-year period (2015-2020). The CMPC ® Recertification Application and CE Activity Log are on the  Applications Form page .

  • You are required to fulfill and document 45 CEUs on the CE Activity Log, including three credit hours in each of the *required areas of Professional Ethics, Diversity, and Mentorship/Supervision found on the right side of the CE Activity Log (*M/S is only for those who wish to continue mentoring students/colleagues).

  • CE activities must correspond to the knowledge areas that are representative of the CMPC® Certification Program's content domains. A detailed breakdown of ways to earn those 45 CEUs is on pp. 40 - 43 of the Candidate Handbook. AASP offers CEU-eligible webinars/virtual conferences; several options count toward the required areas. Other offerings still count toward the 45 CEUs needed overall. Keep your webinar confirmation emails as proof of attending and include them in your application.

  • Please note that as 2017 was the inaugural year of the new program, only attendance at AASP conferences 2017 - present can be counted for 12 CEUs each. The 2019 AASP Annual Conference will take place October 23-26 in Portland, Oregon. Like webinars, keep conference registration emails as proof of attending and insert them in the application. The 2020 AASP Annual Conference will be in Orlando, Florida from October 21-24. Members will receive an email when registration opens.

4. Once you have achieved a passing score, completed the 45 CEUs, and are ready to submit your final application, please compile all materials into a single PDF document and send it to certification@appliedsportpsych.org . AASP will not accept any applications until the submission period opens September 1, 2020, but you can certainly start preparing early!
