Housing Authority of the
County of San Bernardino
California Consulting is excited to spotlight the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino as they celebrate 80 years of Service from 1941 to 2021. California Consulting congratulates HACSB on its 80 years of service to their community.

Recently, California Consulting was able to secure $1,100,000 from the Project HomeKey Grant which was a 22055% return on investment. The Project HomeKey Grant application was a collaborative effort between the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino and Mountain Homeless Coalition to purchase, develop, and rehabilitate a multi-unit property in Big Bear Lake that will provide low-income affordable housing. The winning application was written by CC Project Manager, Adel Hsu.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security (FEMA): Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention (TVTP)

Deadline: May 25, 2021

Amount: $75,000 to $2 million

California Strategic Growth Council and California Department of Housing and Community Development: Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program (Round 6)

Deadline: June 8, 2021 

Amount: The maximum AHSC program loan or grant award, or a combination thereof, is $30 million, with a minimum award of at least $1 million.

Eligibility: A Locality, public housing authority, redevelopment successor agency, transit agency or transit operator, Regional Transportation Planning Agency (RTPA), local Transportation Commission, Congestion Management Agency, Joint Powers Authority (JPA), school district, facilities district, University or Community College District. Federally-recognized Indian Tribe.

U.S. Department of Commerce: FY 2020 EDA Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance Programs including CARES Act Funding

Deadline: There are no submission deadlines under this opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the publication of a new PWEAA NOFO.

Amount: $100,000 to $30 million

Match: Yes - Generally, the amount of an EDA award may not exceed 50 percent of the total cost of the project.

Eligibility: (i) District Organization of a designated Economic Development District; (ii) Indian Tribe or a consortium of Indian Tribes; (iii) State, county, city, or other political subdivision of a State, including a special purpose unit of a State or local government engaged in economic or infrastructure development activities, or a consortium of political subdivisions; (iv) institution of higher education or a consortium of institutions of higher education; or (v) public or private non-profit organization or association acting in cooperation with officials of a political subdivision of a State.

U.S. Department of Justice: BJA FY 21 Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program (BCJI)

Deadline: April 26, 2021 (Extended from March 29, 2021)

Amount: Up to $1 million

Eligibility: Nonprofits, cities, counties, tribal governments and organizations, IHEs


The Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation (BCJI) Program supports Department priorities to reduce serious and violent crime, including gun violence; dismantle gang activity, and strengthen local capacity to combat drug abuse. BCJI helps communities build trust and support law enforcement agencies working with these communities by integrating enforcement strategies into community-based crime reduction efforts and using this information to understand and target the issues.

California Consulting Welcomes Allison Boyd as Our New Project Manager
California Consulting welcomes Allison Boyd as a project manager on our team. Allison Boyd is a project manager at California Consulting and has 15 years of experience in grant writing and project management. Allison Boyd is an active member of the Grant Professionals Association and is one of 23 Grants Professionals Certified in Texas.

She has experience on all sides of development, from co-chair of a fundraising campaign to proposal development and implementation. Seeking funding from private, local, state, and federal resources is one of my many qualities.

In 2018, Allison received the President's Award from the Grant Professionals Association for the outstanding and continued support of the Grant Professionals Association.

Audra Lee
California Consulting is pleased to spotlight our Project Manager Audra Lee.

As an expert in her field, Audra is an experienced grant writer, working in the nonprofit sector for 20 years. Audra is also well versed in nonprofit administration and creating organizational stability through financial diversification.

Her specialty is grant writing and management, nonprofit development, fundraising, and event coordination. She excels at creating solutions to drive organizational growth and stability through fund procurement.

Audra’s passion lies in ensuring leadership, human capital, and fund development support programs and operations to achieve annual objectives and meet strict Foundation, City, County, State, and Federal funding standards.

Audra holds a Master’s degree in Psychology and is a Doctoral of Business candidate. 

Believing in the Spirit of Volunteerism, she devotes much of her free time to giving back to the community. She has sat on several Board of Directors including The HOPE Collaborative and The WonderSeed Foundation.
