Twentynine Palms Receive $2 million for Proposition 68 Cultural, Community, and Natural Resources Grant Program
The City of Twenty Nine Palms Received the Proposition 68 Cultural, Community, and Natural Resources Grant Program which was awarded earlier in 2021 to the tune of $2 million dollars.

This dual-purpose cultural and visitor center project includes support amenities such as sidewalks, paseo, curb, gutters, parking, lighting, and landscaping with trees and shrubs. The building will house two key entities; a visitor center for Joshua Tree National Park and a cultural center and museum for the Twentynine Palms (Chemehuevi) and the San Manuel (Serrano) Bands of Mission Indians.

This center will showcase elements of the park's Campbell collection of prehistoric, historic, and tribal artifacts, which date back 10,000 years to the earliest human habitation of the area known as the Pinto Basin Culture. The cultural center will also incorporate a stage for cultural performances, exhibitions, and community events.

California Consulting Project Manager, Ilya Malinsky, wrote the award-winning application.
