The City of Gardena Receives $8.5 Million from Proposition 68 OGALS - Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization
Program

CC congratulates the City of Gardena (a CC client) for receiving Proposition 68 Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program in the amount of $8,500,000 from the California State Park Grants and Local Services.
This most recent accomplishment is another example of the commitment of the City's leadership to protect and promote the quality of life for its residents.
It’s also a reflection of the dedication and hard work of CC Senior Project Managers, Ashley Ramsey, and Project Manager Shari Edghill, who ensured a successful grant application.

The City of Baldwin Park Received 2 Proposition 68 Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program Totaling over $6.3 Million
|
|
Congratulations to the City of Baldwin Park for receiving 2 Proposition 68 Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program grants from OGALS totaling $6,375,000.
The first award of $3,285,000 will be used to green the paved road along the Big Dalton Wash with a bike trail, lighting, and four pocket parks on Garvey Avenue, Dalewood Street, and Francisquito Avenue.
The second award of $3,090,000 will go to develop the recently acquired 0.16-acre lot next to Barnes Park and an existing 0.18-acre area of the park. Upon completion, the park will have a universal-access playground featuring shade structures, two basketball courts, a futsal court/mini-pitch soccer field, a picnic area, and public art as well as an expanded parking lot, ornamental safety fencing and lighting, and landscaping.
CC Senior Project Manager David Marquez strategically worked side by side with Baldwin Park administration and staff to complete the successful application.

Parlier Unified School District Receives $471,211 for the School Violence Prevention Program

CC congratulates Parlier Unified School District (a CC client) for receiving the School Violence Prevention Program in the amount of $471,211 from the United States Department of Justice.
These monies will fund school security cameral systems and digital radios.

On December 6th, the Municipal Management Association of Southern California- Region 4 and California Consulting hosted a very successful Grant Writing Webinar. Many MMASC members and community leaders attended the meeting.

Azusa Unified School District

California Consulting is honored to spotlight a client that has been with us spanning seven and a half years, Azusa Unified School District.
Azusa USD has close to 7,000 students which include nine elementary schools, three middle schools, one K-8 school, and three High Schools, as well as an Adult School and an Alternative Education School.
The Azusa Unified School District's mission is to equip every student with the knowledge and skills for college and career readiness to fulfill their purpose and positively impact society.
California Consulting has successfully worked side by side with Azusa USD admin and staff to secure $4,061,814 for the district with a 978% return on investment.

Senior Statewide Project Manager, Dana Leusch
|
|
We are excited to spotlight Dana Leusch in our January Newsletter.
Dana Leusch, California Consulting Senior Statewide Project Manager, joined our team in 2012 and is responsible for client retention and business development activities for the Northern California Region
Dana has more than 15 years of experience in grant writing for non-profit organizations and freelance writing and reporting for newspapers and magazines.
As development coordinator for an organization in the Rocky Mountains serving at-risk youth, her successful grant writing and fundraising led to the creation of a home for at-risk and homeless adolescent girls, which has since housed hundreds of teens in need.
Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a Master’s degree in women’s history from the University of Montana. She lives in Clovis with her husband and two children.
