AT AND BEYOND CEU

The Aspen Institute Central Europe has opened applications for its Aspen Young Leaders Program. The Program is designed for emerging leaders (aged 25-40) from Central Europe, active in various professional fields. The program's main goal is to encourage its participants to reflect on the fundamental qualities that make a successful leader in today's world. It also aims at helping young Central Europeans network and discuss issues critical for society's development.

CEU's Human Rights Initiative (HRSI) developed a fun and informative quiz to mark international Human Rights Day earlier this week. You can test your human rights knowledge here.
 
 

career>next HIGHLIGHTS: INTERNSHIPS | TRAINEESHIPS | FELLOWSHIPS

The European Climate Foundation's Strategic Communications Team is currently accepting applications for the paid position of Network Support Strategic Communications Intern. The 6-month internship is scheduled to start in January. Superior written and verbal English language skills, media and social media savviness, and background in the fields of communications, public relations, energy, or environmental issues/international affairs are required. Experience in graphic design and video editing software desired. Deadline: Open until filled
 
Digital Demand has an opening for a Data Analyst Intern in Madrid. A degree in economics, business, engineering, business intelligence, big data analytics, or computer science is required, together with an excellent level of Excel and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of SQL, VBA Macros, or other programming languages is not necessary but will be considered an advantage. Deadline: Open until filled

The OECD Internship Program brings students from diverse backgrounds to work on projects linked to the Strategic Orientations of the Secretary-General and to support the Organization's corporate functions. Most internships are based in Paris. Qualified applicants must be full time students in a discipline related to the work of the OECD. Excellent command of one of the two official languages (English and French) and working knowledge of or willingness to learn the other. International experience through studies, internships, or professional activities is considered an asset. Deadline: Rolling
 
Sonke Gender Justice ,   based in South Africa, offers internships for dynamic, enthusiastic, mature, and committed individuals who share Sonke's belief that women and men, girls and boys can work together to resist patriarchy, advocate for gender justice, and achieve gender transformation. Internships are available in multiple units, including Policy, Development and Advocacy, and Community Education and Mobilization. Fluency in English and strong writing and editing skills are a must. Proficiency in other languages such as: French, Portuguese, Zulu, Xhosa, and/or Afrikaans and web, software, technical, or graphic design skills are considered an asset. Deadline: Rolling
 
 
 
The Institute of Arts and Ideas is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Research Intern to join their editorial production team. The internship will last 3 months and be paid at the national minimum wage (UK). Applicants need to demonstrate exceptional academic results and the personal communication and persuasion skills to excite the UK's leading thinkers. While a degree in philosophy is not a requirement, applicants should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the subject and a good grasp of the key issues in contemporary philosophy. United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is seeking interns to work for the Sustainable Demographic Transition Section. Qualified candidates must be enrolled in a graduate program or begin the internship within one year from graduation. Demonstrated ability to interact with individuals of different backgrounds and beliefs is required, together with a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter. Fluency in oral and written English is a must. Knowledge of another official UN language, particularly Russian, is desirable. Deadline: December 31
 
United States National Committee of ICOMOS (US/ICOMOS) has an open call for intern participants for their International Exchange program. Interns are selected based on their demonstrated skills, commitment to historic preservation, previous experience, and academic concentration in the field, as well as their ability to represent their country on an exchange program. Applicants are also evaluated based on how well their skills, training, interest, and previous experiences match with the needs of host organizations. Deadline: January 3
 
CEU and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) signed an official internship agreement in October 2019. By means of this partnership, UNIDO is expressing a willingness to receive applications from qualified CEU students on a regular basis for internships to be conducted at the UNIDO headquarters in Vienna and in field offices worldwide. Qualified candidates must be 21-35 years old and enrolled in a CEU degree program or begin the internship within 1 year of graduating from CEU. Fluency in English is a must. Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish is highly desirable, Arabic, Chinese and/or Russian working knowledge is considered an asset. Deadline: January 5

Schneider Electric Budapest is currently recruiting for a Sustainability Consultant with Spanish and/or German language knowledge to join their energy and sustainability services group. Qualified candidates must have 1-3 years sustainability related experience and excellent knowledge of MS Excel. In addition to English, fluency in Spanish or German is required. Basic understanding of European environmental and carbon regulations is considered an advantage. Deadline: Open until filled
 
World Pulse, an award-winning social network connecting women worldwide for change, is looking for a part-time Community Manager. Experience in sales, partnerships or marketing is required, together with strong digital/social media skills as well as 2-4 years of experience building, developing, and organizing online communities focused on storytelling, training, or advocacy. International experience (and fluency in 2+ languages) strongly preferred. Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking an Associate to provide administrative and research assistance to the Conflict and Crisis Division. This position can be based in any of their major offices in Europe (Berlin, Paris, Brussels, or London) or in their Beirut office. A bachelor's degree in human rights, international relations, social sciences, or a related field and at least one year of experience working in an office environment or assisting in remote or field research is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are a must. Proficiency in other languages is desirable. Deadline: December 15
 
As part of its Public Policy Practice, Altai Consulting seeks a qualified Consultant for a migration-related assignment in the West Africa region involving experience in interviews/surveys and monitoring and evaluation. Full proficiency in both French and English is required, together with masters' degree or higher in international relations and/or development, political science, M&E, economics, migration, or a related field. Familiarity with issues pertaining to migration and previous experience in West Africa or other challenging environments in fragile countries are an asset. Deadline: December 22 
 
Transparency International is looking to fill a Legal Liaison Officer position based in its international secretariat in Berlin to contribute to the work of the Global Anti-Corruption Consortium (GACC). An academic degree or professional qualification in law is required, together with 1-2+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated, in-depth knowledge related to legal affairs or related fields. Knowledge of project management and monitoring and evaluation is considered an advantage. Deadline December 31
 
Council on Foreign Relations is looking for an Assistant Editor to work for Foreign Affairs Magazine . For this New York-based position, strong writing and editing skills in English and demonstrated interest in international relations and global news are required, together with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
