December 2019 | Issue 54
We hope you enjoy our December E-newsletter. After a small break, we’re back to bring you Carizon news and updates about mental health and wellbeing in our community.

As the year comes to a close, it’s important to take time to look back. It’s through this reflection we recognize what has been, prepare for what can be, and rejoice in the moments and people we cherish the most.

This year at Carizon has been full of growth. Our four-year strategic plan, developed in collaboration with employees, volunteers, community partners, clients, and families, has become our guide for everything we do.
We believe wholeheartedly in our strategic direction and you can see evidence of this when you walk through any of our locations.

We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of you who supported our work this year. You make it possible for us to help people in our community find support, hope, and build resilience when life gets tough.
Wishing you and your family a warm holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year!

The Launch of Woebot in Waterloo Region
Carizon & the Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network recently launched the Woebot app, now available FREE to all residents of Guelph, Wellington County & Waterloo Region!

The artificially intelligent app provides tailored guidance to think and feel better. It can be used as an early intervention self-help tool for mild mental health challenges, in conjunction with counselling, or as additional support after counselling ends.

Our Year in Review
Counselling: All of us face personal struggles. Often, we can cope with these issues, but occasionally, problems can be solved clearly and quickly with professional support.

Children’s Mental Health: helps children and youth struggling with social, emotional or behavioural concerns through family-centered intensive treatment and early intervention programs.

Community Services: reaches out to the community to bring specific services to groups of people who need them most, in locations where support is essential to family wellbeing.
Numbers don’t tell the whole story.

A BIG Carizon Thank You
The holiday season is a time traditionally focused on giving to others and being with friends and family. At Carizon, we hosted our seasonal All Staff gathering to celebrate the amazing people who are the heartbeat of our organization.
There was good food, great company, and some much-needed time to recognize all of the achievements our employees have made this year.

As we celebrated our accomplishments we recognize this would not be possible without your support. Our staff wanted to extend their gratitude, here are a few messages from them:
Please consider including Carizon in your giving plans this holiday season. Your support ensures that no one is ever turned away from counselling services and that children, youth and families who are struggling to manage life's challenges are equipped with tools to help them thrive in their community.

Because of you, our community can heal, grow and create brighter futures.
Wishing you a happy, healthy New Year from our Carizon family!
