Peace
The word is used to serve many purposes and the definition is all encompassing. Websters defines peace as a "state of tranquility or quiet", "freedom from disquieting or oppressive thoughts or emotions" and "harmony in personal relations". We offer a sign of peace at mass and in that moment, we are connected to each other just before receiving Christ. In those moments, we are called to join with each other and share in the Body of Christ. We are unified in Him as one human family.
October is the month dedicated to the Holy Rosary and I know how it makes me feel when I dedicate time in prayer, contemplating the majesty of our Holy Mother. Proclaiming the Glorious Mysteries and contemplating the life, death and Resurrection and Ascension of Christ, allows us to transcend the limitations of our earthly lives and find ourselves in the peaceful embrace of our Blessed Mother. Every time we pray the Holy Rosary, we invite our Blessed Mother into our lives to pray with us, and she brings a sense of peace despite any chaos we might be experiencing in our lives.
It is difficult to think of peace when someone we love so deeply passes away. We may be so overwhelmed with grief that those definitions mentioned above can tend to be irritating. We don't want to think of peace when anger, despair and sadness are the words that define our state of mind. Christ, through His humanity, understands these emotions and our Blessed Mother comes to us to offer us the peace of knowing that through her Son, life has not ended, it is transformed. Heaven is real and there we will find absolute peace.

What You Should Know About Pre-Planning
As we move throughout life, we find ourselves planning for many events, such as baptisms, graduations, weddings, or vacations! However, we often forget about planning for one of the most difficult ones: our own burial.
While planning the details of your burial in advance may sound overwhelming, Catholic Cemeteries is here to answer questions and guide you through the burial pre-planning process. This can include reviewing your burial preference, selecting a burial location, and finalizing burial details.

- November 5 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. All Saints Cemetery, Northfield
- November 12 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. St. Joseph Cemetery, Avon
The Catholic Cemeteries Association invites you to attend a 1-hour pre-planning seminar. These informational seminars provide an overview of the burial planning process including:
- Types of interment (full-body, cremation, and natural)
- Burial options (in-ground or above-ground)
- Memorialization options

Monthly Grief Support Groups
In-Person and Virtual

The Catholic Cemeteries Association will be hosting our next in-person and virtual grief support groups on Sunday, October 16th. In-person groups will meet at 3pm, and the virtual group will meet at 5pm via Zoom. | |

We offer a comfortable, private, and encouraging environment where you are free to explore your grief and all that you are feeling.
Grief support groups meet in the main offices:

For those not able to attend our in-office grief support groups, we welcome you to join our monthly VIRTUAL grief support group. In a comfortable and supportive environment, you'll find a warm fellowship of people with similar grief experiences. You can join by computer or by phone.

Cemetery Sunday is an annual Mass celebrated in honor of your departed loved ones on the sacred grounds of the cemetery. It is celebrated in conjunction with the feasts of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
