Your Voice. Your Community. Your Vote.
With Election Day just one week away, Bay County residents have an important opportunity to participate in the decisions that will help shape the future of our community.
Elections are about more than candidates and campaign signs. They are an opportunity to consider the issues facing our community, understand the responsibilities of those seeking public office and reflect on the policies and priorities that affect where we live, work and do business.
For the business community, staying informed about public policy is an important part of civic engagement. Decisions involving taxation, infrastructure, public safety, education, and economic development can have implications for businesses, employees and families throughout Bay County.
Throughout this election season, the Bay County Chamber of Commerce has worked to provide opportunities for members to learn about issues that may affect our region. Most recently, our October First Friday program featured Bay County Manager Joel Schubert and Sheriff Tommy Ford, who presented information about Amendment 3 and the County's analysis of its potential impacts on local government revenues.
These conversations are an important part of the Chamber's commitment to keeping our members informed and engaged. While individuals may hold different perspectives on candidates and ballot measures, access to reliable information helps everyone better understand the choices before them.
As November 3 approaches, we encourage our members and the entire Bay County community to take time to review their ballots, learn about the candidates and issues, and make a plan to vote.
The Bay County Supervisor of Elections provides official information about voter registration, early voting, polling locations, sample ballots and vote-by-mail options at www.bayvotesfl.gov.
An informed and engaged community is an important part of building a better Bay.
