 Visioning Auglaize Leadership and Unity - VALU




The Visioning Auglaize Leadership and Unity Adult Leadership Program is now accepting applications. The purpose of this program is to educate Auglaize County's up and coming leaders about their community and promote the importance of leadership in all aspects of life. 

The class will meet on the third Thursday of each month from September through June. The cost is $400 per participant for Chamber members. The class is limited to the first 12 participants. You can fill out the application below or pick one up at St. Marys Area, Wapakoneta, or Southwestern Auglaize County Chamber of Commerce offices. 

New this year:
  • Each day we will tour businesses and attractions in a specific town rather than by industry,
  • 1 Scholarship will be given away to a 501(c)3 charitable organization participant,
  • Community involvement component has been added,
  • and more!

 New Student Goody Bags!

The St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with St. Marys City Schools to provide goody bags for new students this year. The bag will include information about area businesses, a gift certificate for Roughrider Gear from the DECCA Store (sponsored by the St. Marys Kiwanis Club), and more.

We are offering to our members the opportunity to put an information brochure/flyer, a coupon, and/or a goody of some sort (water bottle, pen, highlighter, etc.) from your business. If you are interested all items must be turned into the Chamber office by Friday, September 9. You will need to provide 75 items, brochures, etc.

 St. Marys SummerFest Community Input Meeting




Please join the St. Marys SummerFest Committee on Wednesday, August 31 at 7:00 pm at the St. Marys Community Public Library for their SummerFest Community Input Meeting. The committee puts in countless hours to provide a quality community festival, and they are constantly brainstorming ideas to make the festival more efficient, entertaining, and engaging.

This meeting is the place for St. Marys Community members to give ideas, suggestions, and changes that they would like to see for the 2017 St. Marys SummerFest.  The community can give their input on anything from entertainment and events to setup and food vendors. If you are interested in becoming a SummerFest Committee Member, this would be a great time to bring your contact information forward as well. If you are unable to make the meeting, we ask that you please send your suggestions to summerfest@stmarysohio.org.

Topic:  Pre-Placement Evaluations

Description: Dr. Torres of Grand Lake Health System will be presenting on pre-placement evaluations. The purpose of pre-placement screenings is to determine if the applicant has the capacities to accomplish the specific duties of the job in keeping with the physical, environmental, and psychological demands of the position. He will inform the group of various options of occupational health services that Joint Township District Memorial Hospital has available. Some of the most popular services are physicals, drug screens, vaccines and immunizations, and more.

Dr. Torres has over 25 years of occupational medicine experience and extensive professional accrediting. He completed his residency in general preventive  medicine and public health at Walter Reed Institute of Research, and has a master's degree in Public Health from Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. He is very excited to present to the HR Rountable.

Ohio Army National Guard

The Ohio Army National Guard is an organized militia of 11,400 Citizen-Soldiers. Citizen-Soldiers work civilian jobs or go to college full time while putting on a military uniform one weekend a month and two weeks a year to train for responding to state and national emergencies. Our membership in the St. Marys Area Chamber of Commerce is to help us recruit qualified men and women to join the Ohio Army National Guard and serve nation, state, and community.
