With over 30 councils and committees, there is an opportunity for all Chamber members to engage in areas from public policy to women’s issues. Each year there is open enrollment, and it begins now.
“Council service is at the core of what the Chamber is all about,” said Jack Seiler, chair of the Board of Directors. “Volunteering for a council helps the Board set direction and allows members to collaborate with each other and do business, too.”

GLBX Leads Group Makes an Impact | |

On Friday, January 6, over fifteen business leaders exchanged stories about how they are doing business with each other, followed by a presentation by Rene Cantu, Equality Florida, who provided a comprehensive update on the issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community. Clearly, there is renewed energy emerging within this group. Come join us!

On Tuesday, January 10, the Chamber visited City Hall and met with Fort Lauderdale City Manager, Greg Chavarria, Elizabeth VanZandt, DDA and David Coddington from GFL Alliance. Chamber Members Celebrate MLK Day | |
On Friday, January 13, the YMCA had an awards ceremony in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day, it was held at the Event Center Baptist Church with Carolyn Michaels, Dolores Molina, Stephen Gollan, Fire Chief, and Kevin Ensuncho from Brown & Brown who sponsored the event. There were about 300 people in attendance. | |
Grand Opening of Two Great Companies | |

On Saturday, January 14, Melia Arnett-Archie had the opportunity to have her
Grand Opening of not just one, but two wonderful companies. She launched Voicebox Podcast & Creator Studio, LLC and Modern Creators Law Firm, LLC. Melia was surrounded by her amazing family and friends, Greg Chavarria, Fort Lauderdale
City Manager, and some of the Chamber members and employees.

Women's Council Board Meets to Plan for 2023 | |

On Tuesday, January 17, the Women’s Council Board meeting had a combination of
30 members in attendance, both in person and on zoom, to discuss programming
for 2023. Vanessa Seltzer, ARC Broward is the WC Chair 2023.

BizPerks East Gets Spiritual | |

Over 25 people attended BizPerks East on Friday, January 20. Our host sponsor was the Center for Spiritual Living. We were treated to networking, breakfast, and a meditation session by Rev Skip Jennings. Our Chair, Victor Gonzalez Galeano,
outlined the new vision for BizPerks in 2023. What a kick off!
