Over 100 Chamber Members

Attend the DTC Breakfast

There will be a local transportation solution for the New River commuter train, according to Broward County Mayor Lamar Fisher.

Fisher spoke to over 100 business leaders last week at the Chamber’s Breakfast, hosted by the Downtown Council. He also discussed economic engines like

Port Everglades, the new convention center and Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport.

Jack Seiler, Chamber chair of the Board, said, “Mayor Fisher is a great leader and

the right person to bring the community together to find a solution for the coastal

link inter-city rail system.”

Currently, the system is approved only to Broward Health Medical Center on the

south side, but eventually will have stops in downtown Fort Lauderdale,

Oakland Park, Pompano Beach and Deerfield Beach.

Chamber Directors Approve 2023 Budget

Chamber Directors approved a $1.85 million budget for 2023 at its first

Board meeting of the year lead by Jack Seiler, Seiler Sautter Zaden Rimes &

Wahlbrink, chair of the Board.

The budget is fueled by $784,392 in membership dues along with $817,600

in program revenues.

Directors also approved a name change for the Non-Profit Council to the Social

Impact Council, confirmed Maria Medina, The Coaching Network, as the chair of the GLBX Council, authorized a $170,000 capital budget, and received reports from Membership Council Chair Ty Richardson, One Global Business Financing, and

with his Executive Committee next month and report back to the Board.

Huge Success For Coffee & Connections

Deerfield Beach Coffee & Connection's first event for 2023 had over 43 businesses

in attendance. The crowd had a great energy. We even had members attend

who we've not seen prior to the pandemic. Don't forget, the Deerfield Beach

Coffee & Connections is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month.
