Panther's Tickets Awarded at Leads Groups Open House

On Friday, March 8th, the Chamber hosted an open house showcasing the power of our Leads Groups in enhancing your network and business growth. Wisdom Senior Care Ribbon Cutting

On March 14th, Wisdom Senior Care located at 2950 W Cypress Creek Rd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 held their Ribbon Cutting, joined by members of the City of Fort Lauderdale, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, as well as members of the Broward County Black Chamber of Commerce. With great pride, the founder, team members, and honored guests joined together to cut the ribbon, symbolizing the beginning of our journey to provide exceptional care for seniors in our community.

Trustee Reception: Olive & Sea

Broward County's General Manager and Director of Transportation, Coree Cuff Lonergan, was a recent guest speaker at last week's Board of Directors luncheon at Olive & Sea! Director Lonergan shared a series of positive developments, including the Lauderhill Transit Center's achievement of LEED Gold Certification and the record-breaking speed with which a new labor union contract was finalized. She also highlighted the graduation of the largest class of bus operators in Broward County history, and the promising launch of the Shelterless Intervention Pilot.

Looking towards the future, Ms. Lonergan emphasized Broward County's commitment to sustainability. This includes a growing 10% zero-emission fleet and the electrification of express bus routes. She concluded her presentation with a discussion about the Late Shift Connection Program, which is experiencing significant momentum.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, several of our esteemed trustees were recognized for their outstanding contributions. These awards acknowledged the trustees' dedication to their respective fields and their invaluable service to the chamber.

Meet the multi-talented Chris Baker, Co-Owner of Visuals by Momo, a South Florida-based video production company. When Chris and Momo, decided to join the Chamber in 2022, he came with a passion to increase their business presence in the community. So much so that he was affectionately known as “Everywhere Chris,” because he was attending numerous Chamber events and meetings. This could have led to burnout, but we are pleased to report Chris has stayed strong and has pointed his scope this year as a Board Member for the Social Impact and Women’s Councils, continue to participate in the Working Women Win Leads Group, and support the Cultural Council.

Before a shovel ever hit the ground to construct Children’s Harbor in Pembroke Pines, Florida, “Alligator” Ron Bergeron was there, paving the way to ensure the ambitious plan to create a home for this safe shelter to support teens in foster care.

Holy Cross Health’s Transformational Partners in Breast Health Program Benefits from 14th Annual Golf Classic

The 14th Annual Holy Cross Health Golf Classic at Coral Ridge Country Club, presented by The Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation and benefiting the Partners in Breast Health program at the Holy Cross Health Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center raised over $215,000. 

“Over the years, our Golf Classic has grown tremendously, cumulatively raising nearly $1.6 million for Partners in Breast Health,” said Laura Denoux, Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Holy Cross Health. “We appreciate our sponsors and golfers who continue to support us and this transformational program.”

Partners in Breast Health provides outreach education, clinical breast exams, screening mammograms and diagnostic procedures to lower income and minority women ages 40 and older who lack access to healthcare services.
