Approval of Florida Disaster Declaration | |
|
President Biden approved the request to declare a major disaster in Florida, making federal aid available to Broward County. Businesses can begin applying for assistance at DisasterAssist.gov or by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362). Read more here.

Our Chair, Jack P. Seiler, was awarded the 2023 Patron of the Year and presented with a specially flown American Flag by the US Air Force at the Annual Military Employer Recognition Awards Breakfast at the Riverside Hotel, last Friday, April 28.
Heiko Dobrikow was the Master of Ceremonies, Broward County Mayor Lamar Fisher, and Bill Feinberg, along with many of our men and women who serve our Country in the National Guard, and the United States Reserve were all in attendance. A wonderful event in celebration of Fleet Week and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Congratulations to Jack. So well deserved. We are proud of YOU!

FXE Showcases Foreign Trade Zone Benefits | |
Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) opened its doors to the Oakland Park/Wilton Manors/Uptown Council on Apr 25. Attendees networked and learned about the cost-saving benefits from Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 241 over breakfast. | |

Safety-Focused Enhancements
at Fort Lauderdale Beach

The City of Fort Lauderdale gave an update on its A1A streetscape improvements project at our Apr 21 Beach Council meeting. Key enhancements include the creation of a wider sidewalk area, the installation of accent seating and bollards, and the introduction of LED pedestrian lights. Notably, amber-colored lighting will be used during turtle nesting season. Construction began on Apr 24 and is due to be completed in Dec 2023. Click here for further details. | |
